⭐ 3.8 / 5 TripAdvisor — 6,169 reviews · 4★ AI
"The budget pick, not the comfort pick. Real asset: walkable Bucerías — Thursday Art Walk, Sunday market at La Cruz, a wide Banderas Bay beach. Plan around the caveats."

PVR airport transfer

* Source: Air Canada Vacations live listing, YVR → PVR, Dec 28 2026 → Jan 4 2027, 2 adults + 2 children. Includes flight + hotel + airport transfer, taxes & fees. Snapshot: April 2026. Cross-quote Sunwing and WestJet — both sometimes undercut ACV on Decameron inventory in Riviera Nayarit. Costco Travel does not carry this property (they lean Hard Rock / Secrets / Hyatt Ziva in this region).

The "we're saving $3k by sleeping in an older room" resort. Decameron is cheaper than Palladium or Hard Rock for a reason — the rooms are dated (request the Royal tower, block 4, the newer inventory with new tile/beds), WiFi is flaky, and the à la carte reservation system rewards the family who sends one person to queue at 6:30 AM on Day 1. The real reason to be here is location: you can walk into Bucerías town in 5–15 minutes for the Thursday Art Walk (Nov–Apr, free, ~17 galleries) and cab to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle for the Sunday farmers market (Dec 28 and Jan 4 both fall in season). Timeshare warning real and recent: pitches at check-in, poolside, and even at tequila stores in town. Decline firmly — if pressed, in writing.

⚠️ Timeshare Warning — read this before check-in. Multiple 2025–2026 reviewers report aggressive and repeated timeshare / "vacation club" sales at check-in, poolside, and at "welcome meetings" framed as free boat tours or 50% AI discounts. Declining once isn't enough — pitches get re-attempted by concierges, pool staff, and meeting hosts. Off-property pressure too: "free drink" offers at tequila stores in Bucerías require 90-minute presentations. The move: say "no" firmly at check-in, in writing if pressed, don't hand over a deposit, and skip the "welcome meeting." The $3k you're saving vs. Palladium is yours, not theirs.

🛏️ Rooms & Inclusions

  • 3-hotel complex, one wristband: Flamingos · Tropical · Royal — shared pools, restaurants, bars, entertainment. ~620 rooms total.
  • Request "Royal tower, block 4, oceanfront" — reviewer consensus: newest renovated inventory, new tile/beds/grout. Flamingos and Tropical are older.
  • All rooms: balcony/patio, AC, physical keys, no mini-fridge, safe (extra charge at some towers)
  • AI: all meals + snacks, 5 à la carte dinners (reservation + dress code), unlimited domestic drinks, 7 bars, daily activities, nightly shows, non-motorized watersports, round-trip PVR transfers via tour operators
  • 5 pools — one adults-only · 4 family · wide Banderas Bay beach · palapas (claim chairs EARLY with towels)
  • Entertainment: nightly theme shows, live music, beach volleyball, 2 tennis courts, 1 new pickleball court, soccer, gym, spa (upcharge)
  • Conga nightclub (11 PM – 2 AM) — reviewer reports suggest 18+ enforcement. Don't promise 15/17-year-olds disco access.

🎮 Teen / Kids (honest read)

  • 4 kid-oriented pools + 1 adults-only
  • Sports: soccer, new pickleball court, 2 tennis courts, beach volleyball, free non-motorized watersports — the best draws for 15/17 yrs
  • Mini-club 4–12 (daily activities directors, not a structured Kids Club) — teens age out
  • ⚠️ No dedicated teen lounge, esports, or teen-only hours. This is the honest gap.
  • Plan for your 15 & 17-year-olds to self-entertain at beach + pool + pickleball + walking into Bucerías town
  • Early-evening theatre shows + nightly live music in the main plaza are open to all ages · Conga is adults-only per reviews
