Every room is a suite, the beach is the legitimately gorgeous Playa Mujeres stretch, and the property is newer (2019) so nothing feels tired yet. 4.3 TA on 5k+ reviews is a well-trodden, reliable number — you know what you're getting. Michael: Catalonia is Spanish-owned, which means the tapas-style small plates at Mare Nostrum and actual Rioja in the wine cellar. Tova: Playa Mujeres is the quiet peninsula — no late-night club vibe. There's a sister adults-only tower (Royal Level) next door, accessible if you upgrade. Charlotte and Cohen: kids' club, teens' area, pool complex with swim-up suites. The downside: smaller than Royalton/Palladium — if the kids are looking for a water park or big-ticket attractions, this isn't it.
